Just got my third roll of film back and I’m so relieved to see decently focused pictures. After working on my focusing technique and making sure to use the fine adjustment I’m finally happy with my pictures.
The “new” problem that I have is the contrast of the image. The prints look better than the scans do – but I still would like to have stronger differences between the shadows and the highlights in my images. I’m going to try speeding up the shutter, using a slower film speed, and using a higher f-stop. I’ll report on my results in a couple of rolls’ time (I have to work through some old black and white film – I’ll be looking to these pictures for some inspiration).
I recently “found” the dike at the edge of the Terra Nova community in Richmond, it’s really beautiful there and I highly recommend it for an evening stroll in the summer. Here are some shots from the dike:
