Over the last few months I’ve found myself taking pictures at events more than anywhere else. And, to be honest, I didn’t think I’d like it too much – but it’s been good so far. I think the reason why I never really thought I’d enjoy event photography was because I didn’t want the pressure of “capturing” the essence of the event to depend solely on me and my equipment. I don’t have a professional DSLR, nor do I have any of that sweet sweet L-glass, and – let’s be honest I’m not really that great of a photographer.
Skills, equipment, and doubt aside, I’ve found a way to create a set of parameters that really let me do my thing:
All in all, I feel that I’m becoming a better photographer because I’m actively getting myself out there. I’m sure my opinions on these things will change, but for now I’m content and that’s all that really matters.
Here’s a list of some of the events I’ve been involved with:
Of course, must thank all the organizers of these events who threw an offer my way – it’s been fun and I hope to keep on going
