I had the privilege of visiting the Meenakshi Amman Temple while in Madurai on a business trip. This is carving made on one of the temples pillars – the colour and textures really stood out to me. The temple itself is ~2500 years old and it’s breathtakingly ornamented with carvings and paintings. It’s still used today and was absolutely packed with worshippers at 9am.
