We were enjoying breakfast on the patio at Black Rock when off in the distance we saw something breaking through the water, turns out it was a grey whale! I promptly whipped out the zoom lens and managed to capture the tail of the breaching whale. We watched it for a bit, but it never fully jumped out of the water. Even at 400mm I had to crop the image quite a bit to get the whale to be a decent size in the picture. Either way…I’ve just totally justified the purchase of this lens.
